Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering - written to industry standards
In 2006 new EU legislation introduced HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) to the UK
and necessitated a review of recommended food safety training. The old 'Basic Food Hygiene' was
integrated with HACCP and the new food safety training is now called Level 2 Food Safety for Catering.
This is also in the formats of Manufacturing and Retail. Train4food with Elearnershop is
proud to present to you the first of these awards to be available on-line from your own PC with
a link to UK awarding body City and Guilds.
The certificate is printed instantly upon successful
completion of the course, without the need to visit an examination centre.
Consisting of 5 individual lessons each taking approximately 30 minutes per lesson. The course takes approximately 150 minutes in total to complete with one end test.
The course is divided into 5 lessons:

This course replaces the old 'Basic Food Hygiene' Certificate and meets the new 2006 standards.
By its very nature, a level 2 course is complex and has a comprehensive learning content. We therefore will allow users to ‘dip’ in and out of the learning content until they are thoroughly happy that they have understood the learning. When ready, the candidate can opt to take the test, and the learning will become blocked, creating examination conditions.
The test follows the standards. It has a 30 multi-choice question range (from a variable bank of 90 questions) of which the candidates must achieve 66% to obtain a certificate.
The candidate will fill in a registration form which will be automatically sent to City and Guilds, and when the paper has been electronically marked, the results will be recorded. The candidate has the option to print out their marked paper. The successful candidate can instantly print their certificate. This is the simplest, most convenient way to achieve compliance.
