Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering - written to industry standards
In 2006, new EU legislation introduced HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) legislation into the UK.
This necessitated a review of food safety training to combine the old 'Basic Food Hygiene' training with HACCP. The new training is called Food Safety Training at levels 1 & 2.
These standards have now replaced the old Basic Food Hygiene standards.
The Course
Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness for Catering is intended for:
- those who do not handle or prepare high risk
- New starters
Duration: Approximately 1 hour.
Course Content
The course has an introduction and eleven sections of learning. After each section there is an activity which is intended to help re-inforce the understanding and retention of the learning.
We deliver training to Big Brand Media, ITV for Britain’s Best Dish.
Course overview
Course demonstration
This course is the simplest, most cost effective way to achieve compliance in 1 hour. It contains the new HACCP information and meets the requirements of the New Food Standards. It is ideal for new starters who can then progress to level 2 in time, or if they change the nature of the food they handle
The Assessment
The course contains a live link to the awarding body City and Guilds. When ready, the learner registers their details on-line. They are then taken to the 20 multi-choice questions (of which they must answer 75% correctly). Upon completion, the learner can view or print their marked questions and if successful can print their certificate from City and Guilds directly from their PC, no waiting involved.
